Rao Enterprises group consists of two business interests -

1) Rao Enterprises -  the flag ship company of Rao Enterprises Group, was established in the year 1984 as Saree (traditional Indian dress) manufacturing unit by Mr. N.K.Bheema Rao, M.Tech (Fibre Science), IIT Delhi. In 1985, a new type of Saree was invented which was made out of 100% Dyed Polyester yarn. This became an instant success and the firm expanded its business with customers in almost all states of India. At that time the raw material was being purchased from Mumbai and a necessity was felt to establish a godown at Belgaum to cater not only to its own needs but also to the needs of other weavers in the area. Hence, the firm diversified into trading of Polyester yarn in 1988 and took the agencies of major textile manufacturing companies such as Reliance Industries Ltd., Modipon Ltd., JK Synthetics Ltd., Nirlon Ltd. etc. By 1990 the firm had become the only source of good quality Polyester yarn in Belgaum and surrounding areas. In 1991, due to the growing demand of Twisted Polyester Yarn, a twisting factory was established using uptwisters. Till today it supplies quality During its growth Rao Enterprises also started manufacturing twisted and doubled yarn in the year 1991 and is supplying high quality Polyester twisted yarn. In 2006, due to the growing popularity of Cotton Yarns,  it diversified into trading of Cotton and Mercerised Cotton yarns. Today, Rao Enterprises has established itself as a reputed supplier of Polyester and Cotton Yarn in Belgaum and surrounding areas. 

2) Rajeev and Company - In the year 1996 the group diversified into the field of Engineering and under the name of Rajeev and Company it started manufacturing Balls, Stems and other components for Ball Valves. It also started machining Precision components for Automobile Industries and grew from having 1 CNC machine to 4 CNC machines. In 2006, it started manufacturing complete Ball Valves under the brand name Kavaata Valves.
